Job Context


Job Responsibilities

  1. Work alongside management at client sites in the operation of their business on a regular basis, responding to tax and accounting queries
  2. Develop and maintain on-going client relationships
  3. Review necessary work papers, financial statements and tax returns
  4. Onsite client work as deemed necessary
  5. Answer client calls and emails in a timely manner and with a solution-oriented approach
  6. Participate in proposal process, prospective client meetings and budget development
  7. Identify out of scope work to be discussed internally and with client as deemed necessary
  8. Understand and explain relationship of financial statement outcome to tax implications to client and Associates
  9. Read prior year financial statements, tax returns and client website and actively seek out information to gain an understanding of client business and industry
  10. Proactively inform engagement team of work status and request information from client as needed
  11. Delegate work effectively based on risk, team capabilities, engagement status and staff development opportunities
  12. Develop strong project management and client relationship skills with a good understanding of complex accounting and tax situations
  13. Ensure client deliverables are met within expectations, responsible for handling any escalated issues that may arise
  14. Identify and introduce other firm services based on client needs and discovered opportunities
  15. Maintain and develop professional network of peers, seek business development opportunities through new or existing contacts
  16. Leader within a community, business or professional organization and develop relationship to produce new business and grow the firm’s client base
  17. Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  18. Responsible for engagement management personal, team and client margins to outlined firm expectations
  19. Understand dynamics of the client relationship and history to improve current engagement efficiencies
  20. Participate in continuous learning activities and active research to improve and develop own and others’ technical expertise; apply learned concepts
  21. Collaborate with leader to identify opportunities for efficiencies and proactive engagement management

  • Bachelor/Honors
Skills
  • Advanced computer skills specifically in MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills necessary to meet the needs of various audiences with a demonstrated track record of strong organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Proven experience solving problems effectively with best possible outcome for all involved Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT or relevant Business or Information Technology field, or comparable work experience. The Business Development Representative must be able to: Ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment and meet deadlines
