Job Responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage the procurement process of agricultural raw materials, equipment, and supplies for multiple departments or regions.
2. Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with company objectives and inventory management needs.
3. Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and performance reviews to ensure high-quality sourcing.
4. Negotiate and establish long-term contracts, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms to ensure competitive and cost-effective procurement solutions.
5. Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in order confirmations, invoices, and payments.
6. Manage inventory forecasting, monitor stock levels, and collaborate with warehousing and logistics teams for effective supply chain management.
7. Ensure all purchased materials and products meet the company’s quality standards and compliance requirements; address quality concerns and oversee corrective actions.
8. Conduct advanced market research to stay updated on industry trends, price fluctuations, and emerging products.
9. Generate reports, perform data analysis, and provide insights for senior management decision-making, budgeting, and cost-saving strategies.
10. Ensure adherence to procurement policies, industry regulations, and company standards, and maintain comprehensive procurement records.
11. Lead and mentor junior purchasing staff and assist with training, process improvement, and best practices in procurement activities.
12. Collaborate with various departments to support company goals and optimize procurement operations.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned by senior management.

Skills

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture/Forestry/Plantation Management, or equivalent. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; Mandarin proficiency is a plus. Relevant working experience in procurement, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or senior role. Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently. Proficient in using procurement software (experience with Auto Count is an advantage). Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proven track record in cost management and supplier relationship building. Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
